The Blackjack Addendum
Posted on 18. Jun, 2009 by Xander in News in Review

Operation Blackjack has risen to the public eye once again. Thanks to a fellow patriot, and the Info Warrior Jason Bermas, we now understand that a hexadecimal code displayed on one of the Union of North America ID cards, actually spells the words “This is not simply entertainment.”
Upon receiving this revelation and actively following the Blackjack story, I felt obligated to decode the string myself. Returning to the site of origin, I found the slide on frame 15 of part 4 of the series.
Sure enough, once I copied the code and translated it, I found the gentleman on the Info Warrior to be correct. The code: (74686973206973206e6f742073696d706c7920656e7465727461696e6d656e74) does indeed translate into “this is not simply entertainment.”
Combing over the images, I happened upon what appeared to be a new slide. In part 4 frame 17 a seemingly new image emerged. This simple addition displayed the header, “Citizens of the Union of North America Permit to Travel.” Under the deceptive headline was yet another hexadecimal code.
Perplexed with the recent discovery of embedded code within such a highly controversial piece, I decided to take the time and decipher the Blackjack addendum. Saving the picture for future reference, I was struck by the image title, ardent sentry.
NORAD and NORTHCOM begin their nationwide exercise today, in which a simulated nuclear incident occurs. Interestingly, one of those operations was graced with the name Ardent Sentry.
Pressing past the speculation, I dug into the code. Straining to keep my eyes on the line, I finished the copy and dumped into an online translator. What came out on the other end only brought more questions. If copied correctly, the message should read:
This is the final warning on this site – all further warnings will be given on jackblack12.info. Beware Ardent Sentry. Be alert for Semis bearing the sun icon. Not all federal authorities are involved.
Following the link to the newly exposed site, I found what appears to be a timer.

Either, this is one Hell of a viral marketing scheme targeted for the conspiracy driven, hexadecimal decoding junkie, or the fecal matter is about to hit the rotating blades.

Day Late and a Dollar Short

Before you were able to get to jackblack12.info there was a barcode posted on the site. That when translated said blackjackisgo 20 minutes after posting that on an online forum it was replaced with the countdown which you saw. As of 1300 GMT the timer was replaced with a binary scrolling box which has also been decoded to now be replaced with two countdown timers and a new barcode.

UMMM,
Why don’t you find out who created the cartoon and ask him or her or it why they decided to create this BlackJack cartoon?

Unfortunately, the site and therefore timer has been brought down. All that remains is the domain and a Godaddy.com parked page.
Sorry
